60+ Years at Massawepie
For over six decades, Troop 31 has been an active participant at Massawepie Scout Camps outside Tupper Lake in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. We are one of the original troops who were present at Massawepie Camp opening and have been attending every year since.
Troop 31 has been camping at Massawepie since 1952 - that's over 60 years of continuous participation!
The Highlanders Legacy
This District was originally made up of nine troops that were organized and resided in the Highland Park area of Rochester. The group of troops was originally called the "Highlanders", and they took turns having a troop represent them each week that the Camp was open during the summer. While the tradition of the Highlanders has folded and no longer exists, Troop 31 continues to honor this legacy through our continued participation at Massawepie.
A Photo Journey Through the Years
We have an extensive collection of photos from Massawepie ranging from 1958 to 2013, documenting generations of Troop 31 scouts at camp.
